The staff at Skyline Preschool has significant experience in pre-K instruction and activities.
Joady Stern
Joady attended Cal State Hayward, where she received her BA in Early Childhood Education. She then earned her California Elementary Teaching Credential from the University of California. She taught 2nd grade, kindergarten, and a K-1 combo for eight years in the Sebastopol public schools. Joady raised 3 kids until the youngest was a 2nd grader. Joady then joined the Darla at Good Shepherd Lutheran School teaching half-day kindergarten for 3 years. She then taught kindergarten in Fremont at Our Savior Preschool/Kindergarten before rejoining Darla at Skyline in 1994. Joady has over 20 years teaching experience.
Darla Fisher
Darla received her BA in Education from Wayne State College in Nebraska. She began her teaching career in the Turlock Public Schools where she taught third grade for two years. She taught preschool for thirteen years at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in Hayward. Darla has been teaching at Skyline for ten years and has a total of 23 years in the field of early childhood education.
Debbie Bach
A Colorado native, Debbie and her family relocated to Hayward, California in 1993. When her daughter started kindergarten at Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Debbie joined the staff as a teacher’s aide, where she began working with Joady Stern. After leaving Good Shepherd, Debbie took some time off before joining Joady and Darla at Skyline Preschool. Debbie has a teaching credential from Chabot College and hopes to continue her education.
